This Week in Panels: Week 239

  1. Is Ms Marvel any better? Or is it still just written to fill the whole “Appeal to the internet by showing DIVERSITY, even though we don’t really understand diversity, so let’s just make her a Muslim” thing?

  2. @Rodney The Piper:
I only read the first two issues so far, Rodney, but found it to be a perfectly good comic. If anything, it moreso reflected what it felt like to be a teenager and feel “different” from other youth as opposed to pushing “diversity for diversity’s sake” as some expressed fear of happening. I think the character being Muslim works well for the story and introduces some fun elements. So to give a short answer, it is pretty good.

  3. People trusting Starscream always makes me laugh

  4. It feels good to see Greg Capullo get some shine. I remember his X-Force days and when he took over the art duties of Spawn. Even though I was kinda mad that Todd was getting out of artwork to focus on McFarlane Toys, I wasn’t too mad about Capullo taking over. It’s good to see him where he is now…and even the drones screaming the same ol’ tired talking points about the horrors of 90’s comics can’t front on him.

  5. @Rodney The Piper:

It’s written by a Muslim woman.
