This Week in Panels: Week 239
April 21st, 2014 by Gavok | Tags: Batman, carnage, deadpool, hulk, panels, sinestro, what if, wonder womanIt’s that thing where me and some guys take comics we read and cut them down into one panel that best explains the comic! Yeah! That thing! It’s me along with Matlock, Gaijin Dan, Space Jawa and smashpro.
For the first time in forever, we got a good issue of What If. Plus TWO enjoyable Cullen Bunn comics in one week. I’m as shocked as you are.

This week gave us the 20th anniversary of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast a TV show that helped create the bond between me and the brother who is a brother from another mother David Brothers. Here’s one of my all-time favorite episodes, Sweet for Brak.
Is Ms Marvel any better? Or is it still just written to fill the whole “Appeal to the internet by showing DIVERSITY, even though we don’t really understand diversity, so let’s just make her a Muslim” thing?

by David Bitterbaum April 23rd, 2014 at 08:06 --replyI only read the first two issues so far, Rodney, but found it to be a perfectly good comic. If anything, it moreso reflected what it felt like to be a teenager and feel “different” from other youth as opposed to pushing “diversity for diversity’s sake” as some expressed fear of happening. I think the character being Muslim works well for the story and introduces some fun elements. So to give a short answer, it is pretty good.
People trusting Starscream always makes me laugh
by Nathan April 23rd, 2014 at 14:19 --replyIt feels good to see Greg Capullo get some shine. I remember his X-Force days and when he took over the art duties of Spawn. Even though I was kinda mad that Todd was getting out of artwork to focus on McFarlane Toys, I wasn’t too mad about Capullo taking over. It’s good to see him where he is now…and even the drones screaming the same ol’ tired talking points about the horrors of 90’s comics can’t front on him.

It’s written by a Muslim woman.
