This Week in Panels: Week 248
June 24th, 2014 by Gavok | Tags: avengers, panels, punisher, sex criminals, thunderbolts, tmnt, wonder womanHey, ThWiPsters. We’re getting closer and closer to the big 250th week landmark with panels from myself, Matlock, Gaijin Dan, Space Jawa and AnarChris. Original Sin continues to be Marvel’s more entertaining and less rapey version of Identity Crisis and I’ve been very happy with that. The two TMNT comics were also fantastic this week.
Helluva lot of Frank Castle stuff this week.
Elsewhere, I’ve written a review of the first arc of the WWE Superstars comic, as well as a look at various storyline aspects I expect to see in the next Mortal Kombat game.

While I tend to find Epic Rap Battles of History amusing on its own, the latest edition has Weird Al Yankovic as Sir Isaac Newton, which is amazing. Though really, it’s the last verse that makes it awesome.
I’m really glad that 3 of us went different routes with Sex Crim. And that I got to go with “Poop Jesus”.
BTW, is Turtles in Time self-contained. Because I MAY need to buy that immediately.
by AnarCHris June 24th, 2014 at 08:24 --reply@AnarCHris: It looks like it. The first issue, they’re already back in time with very little explanation. We just know that they came across some kind of goofball lady time traveler who caused this.
by Gavok June 24th, 2014 at 12:49 --replyIs the reason there are no X-Men titles because the X books aren’t very good at the moment? I picked up Messiah Complex recently and, while it was entertaining, there were things that bothered me, especially how Layla Miller was either a 10-year-old girl or jail bait, depending on who was drawing her (and learning that she’s apparently magically aged to an adult and is married to Jamie is kind of icky). Anyway, thinking about starting to patronize by LCS and it seems like Avengers World, Punisher and Original Sin all look like good buys. I’m already reading Saga, which is also entertaining, although a bit crass and vulgar sometimes.
