This Week in Panels: Week 160
October 14th, 2012 by Gavok | Tags: Batman, demon knights, fantastic four, panels, ultimate x-menI’m going to be quick about this one because after four days of New York Comic Conning, my dogs are barking and my leg muscles are painfully trying to rebuild themselves. Come back tomorrow to see the fruits of my many hours at Comic Con’s Artist Alley. It’s going to be well worth your time, I promise. Then maybe the day after I’ll have a write-up of the show itself.
Didn’t read Batman, but I got Batgirl. Query: What’s with the die-cut Joker mask covers? What, DC collecting mid-90s Marvel personnel wasn’t enough?
I liked UA, even with the ending, which is one of those things that should never have happened if people thought shit through. I got the blank cover, which I got sketched on Friday.
God help the poor bastards to whom Space Hulk gives out noogies.
That’s what Chun-Li would look like with a chef’s hat? Okay, then.

This picture was done by the same artist.

by Clarence Boyce October 15th, 2012 at 21:18 --replyWhat’s the premise behind Marvel Universe vs. the Avengers? Is it just the Avengers fucking up, the universe turns on them, or what?
by Rick Wears Pants October 18th, 2012 at 17:03 --reply@Rick Wears Pants: It’s the third part of a trilogy started with Marvel Universe vs. Punisher and Marvel Universe vs. Wolverine. It’s about a world where Punisher inadvertently and unknowingly exposed some experimental chemicals into the ecosystem and months later, people would become primal monsters, starting with Spider-Man. Kind of like tribal zombies, but instead of bites or infections turning you, everyone is more like a ticking time bomb. People seem to turn one at a time and it’s hard to tell if survivors are immune or just haven’t been affected yet.
It’s all the same story from different perspectives. The Avengers one centers around Hawkeye. All of them feature the same scene of the Punisher reluctantly shooting a transforming Captain America in the back of the head.
They’re all worth checking out.
