This Week in Panels: Week 158

September 30th, 2012 by | Tags: , , ,

Hey kids. I’m helped out this week by Jody, Gaijin Dan and Space Jawa. Jawa wanted me to note, what with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles issue having come out this week, that the new cartoon is worth checking out based on the first episode.

I should note in the upcoming images that the gentleman in the Space Punisher panels is none other than Jarvis the Butler. Yes, in this reality where everybody is reimagined as a futuristic dude from space, the biggest badass on the block is none other than Jarvis. It’s rad.

Speaking of rad, the panels between me and Jody perfectly explain why FF was such a great issue this month.

I’m pretty sure that Alves/Punisher panel is what Esther said to David before she stopped writing for this site.

Next Sunday is my graduation performance for Improv 301 at the Upright Citizens Brigade Training Center. It’s going to be at UCBeast in the East Village at 2:30, so if you’re in the area, by all means check it out. After this, I’m going to have to take a break from the improv classes as 401 is next and taking that class would mean doing three shows instead of one. I work retail and with the holidays coming up, no way would I be allowed three weekend days off. I figure I’ll take Sketch Writing 101 in the meantime.

Speaking of UCB, I caught a couple scripted shows the other day. One was Death Wears Stilettos, an ingenious spoof on noir movies that I mainly saw because my Improv 101 friend Risa had a small role. The other show was Dog Fleet, a parody of early 90’s after school cartoon shows.

Wouldn’t mind if this somehow became an Adult Swim series.
