This Week in Panels: Week 151
August 13th, 2012 by Gavok | Tags: Batman, hulk, panels, resurrection man, spider-manGood stuff this week. I’m helped out by Gaijin Dan, Jody, Was Taters and Space Jawa.
In completely unrelated news, this Thursday is Rifftrax Live, where the MST3K guys will do a live performance that will be broadcast to movie theaters around the country. The movie in question? Manos: Hands of Fate, with a completely new set of riffs.
You should totally check it out. For the Master.

Spider-Men #4 is fantastic. When Bendis is on, he’s on and he’s definitely on right here.
Space Punisher makes me think of when Marvel Zombies first started. I can’t call it “good”, but I still enjoy what is a writer going to town on a ripe concept with a whole untouched sandbox to play with. It wasn’t until Marvel Zombies 2 that Kirkman really lost his mojo, so if this miniseries gets a sequel, it’ll probably fall flat by that point.
Either way, the cover for #4 is beautiful.
Anyone else think it looks like Jason Sudeikis?
Becky Cloonan is drawing Batman? Whoa… gotta find that.
Also, why did Red Robin suddenly bulked up? :/
by Mark Poa August 13th, 2012 at 06:59 --replyNow that you mention it, he does look a lot like Jason Sudeikis.
by B Lau August 13th, 2012 at 10:11 --replyI will alternately say though, if someone else takes over for Space Punisher 3 and 4, based on MZ as an example, that will be just GREAT
by GQ August 13th, 2012 at 14:20 --replyWell I guess it’s official: Batman’s not going to go after the homos next.
by Chunky Style August 15th, 2012 at 02:50 --reply@Chunky Style: Do what now?

Lest there be any confusion, I am very happy with Batman protecting gays in the latest issue of “Batman”. But I think of that guy from “The Dark Knight Returns” and I imagine he must be absolutely FUMING. I like to imagine he’s still in continuity, just seething that Batman has somehow betrayed him.
