This Week in Panels: Week 143
June 17th, 2012 by Gavok | Tags: avx, Batman, fantastic four, panels, uncanny x-forceHey there. Massive week of panels for This Week in Panels, though there’s a lot of overlap from different contributors. I’m joined by Gaijin Dan, Jody, Was Taters and Space Jawa. Jody continues to read Amazing Spider-Man, which gives me an excuse to post a link to Chris Eckert’s take on the latest issue.
While I emptied my wallet quite a bit this week, it looks like I’ll be saving in the long run. Incorruptible gave us its final issue, which is a lot more straightforward than what we got in Irredeemable. Also, DC announced the cancellations of three comics I read: Justice League International, Captain Atom and Resurrection Man. It sucks that Captain Atom is going especially, but the writing’s been on the wall and I’m nowhere near surprised.
What also sucks is that I was tricked into reading a Jeph Loeb comic. Damn it!

I wish I could have figured a better image for Invincible. Monster Girl and Robot is one of the more interesting romantic pairings in comics and I like that Kirkman’s finally bringing to light what tore them apart, albeit telling the story slowly.
At work, we’ve been playing this Beach Boys CD nearly every day and I’ve found that those guys are only enjoyable in small doses. I am disappointed that for a “best of” album, it’s missing this track.
Goddamn you, 80’s.
That’s because it’s a “BEST of”. Key word, “BEST”.

I’m confused did they re re reboot spider man or did 161 peter crossover to ultimates just to help miles? is this comic a homage to Sonic 2 where Peter gets a side kick name Miles who kinda like him but has webbing and can fly?
by SomerandomGuy June 18th, 2012 at 18:15 --reply@SomerandomGuy: 616 Peter got zapped to ultimate universe. At least it’s bendis writing.
by Jody June 18th, 2012 at 21:17 --replyThanks for the link to Chris’s asm article. I didnt know pete had taken such a hardline stance. I only read spidey events. This event was meh at best. I kept telling myself I would see it through because I need a conclusion, but damn…
