This Week in Panels: Week 92

June 26th, 2011 by |

Welcome back to another week of panels of stuff that didn’t happen. This week I’m joined by Was Taters (who thought the Lois Lane book had some good concepts buried under miles of gratuitous cleavage and thongs), Space Jawa (who has a lot to say about why Ultimate Spider-Man’s death doesn’t work, but that’ll wait for later) and naktekh (who agrees that War Machine does a whole lot of nothing in a series that’s supposed to be about him).

In other news, my brother directed yet another music video. This time for Selena Gomez, which is both a pretty big deal and is being linked to instead of embedded onto 4L because I have my e-cred to worry about. Of course, if Selena Gomez isn’t your thing, you can always watch that nightmarish video he made about the ventriloquist dummy made of raw meat. They kind of offset each other.

Now the panels.

Batman: Gates of Gotham #2
Scott Snyder, Kyle Higgins and Trevor McCarthy

Captain America #619
Ed Brubaker, Butch Guice and Chris Samnee

Carnage #5
Zeb Wells and Clayton Crain

Deadpool #39
Daniel Way and Bong Dazo

Flashpoint: Kid Flash Lost #1
Sterling Gates and Oliver Nome

Flashpoint: Lois Lane and the Resistance #1
Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning and Eddie Nunez

Flashpoint: Reverse-Flash
Scott Kolins and Joel Gomez

Flashpoint: The Outsider #1
James Robinson and Javi Fernandez

Incredible Hulks #631
Greg Pak and Paul Pelletier

Iron Man 2.0 #6
Nick Spencer, Ariel Olivetti and Carmine Di Giandomenico

Namor: The First Mutant #11
Stuart Moore and Carlos Rodriguez

Rocketeer Adventures #2
Mark Waid, Chris Weston, Darwyn Cooke and various others

Superman #712
Kurt Busiek and Rick Leonardi

Thunderbolts #159
Jeff Parker, Declan Shalvey and various others

Ultimate Avengers vs. New Ultimates #5
Mark Millar and Leinil Yu

Ultimate Spider-Man #160
Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley

So yeah, there’s yet another symbiote hero out there. I’m guessing Scorn will fall off the face of the earth after Carnage USA finishes up. Either way, Carnage was a fun miniseries and I highly recommend it.

Now here’s a thing that is awesome.

  1. Are those Iron Fist’s fellow Hidden Cities warriors in the Iron Man panel?

  2. Odd inflection in that Kid Flash line.

    Great Batman line.

Anything withh Commander Rogers is likely to make me smile. I kinda don’t want him back as Cap. I also don’t want most others in that role. Hm.

Now I really want to see that Ultimate vs. ish.

Poor Pete. I admire Marvel’s balls, if nothing else about these Ultimate deaths.

Oh. And I thought Gavok might care (ha!) that ComiXlogy/Marvel has Venom issues on sale for 99cts. I guess that’s just on iOS devices since Marvel chose not to reflect their issues on ComiXology’s website.

  3. “Jew Political Party Lineup?”

  4. That new Steve Rogers outfit is so awesome, and I’m glad to see he keeps it around for Secret Avengers stuff(even though its bright as hell and probably isn’t that tactical).

  5. There will come a day when Daniel Way isn’t writing Deadpool anymore. Nothing lasts forever. But sometimes, oh god, the Green Mile is so long.
