-You Made Me Read This!
-I made Esther read Garth Ennis, Steve Dillon, and Jimmy Palmiotti’s violent Punisher: Welcome Back, Frank
-She made me read L Frank Baum, Eric Shanower, and Skottie Young’s sublime The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
-“Made” may be the wrong word for that last one.
-6th Sense’s 4a.m. Instrumental for the theme music.
-Here comes a new challenger!
-See you, space cowboy!

  1. What 2 disparate styles…. Dillon, Palmiotti and Ennis on one side; Baum, Shanower, and Young on the other….

Like mixing bubblegum pop with death metal…..

  2. One of the things that disappointed me about the first post-2000 Punisher movie was that the neighbours just weren’t as funny or endearing as their comicbook counterparts, particularly Spacker Dave who didn’t have any of his upbeat exuberance.

That story with the Punisher taking on a guy poisoning aspirin, wasn’t that part of a crossover with Daredevil, with the DD part being written by Ann Nocenti? I don’t think I saw the whole of it, but I do recall liking the end of it, when Daredevil’s trying to convince the poisoner to let him defend him in court. I was particularly fond of a line that Daredevil had, something like “society has to take responsibility for the people it crushes”.
